Introduction
Charting the course for responsible AI is a Fringe event to the AI Safety Summit, hosted at University College London.
This exciting event brings together experts and enthusiasts to explore the potential and challenges of AI in a relaxed and engaging setting. From thought-provoking talks and panels to students' voice, immerse yourself in the latest advancements and ethical considerations surrounding AI.
About the event
This year, over 1000 AI leaders and researchers signed an open letter highlighting the risk of AI, urging world leaders to reflect and combat these risks. The forthcoming AI Fringe events will see the convening of international policy makers, AI CEOs, academics and civil society representatives to discuss such matters.
UCL and the AI Fringe will host a discussion on AI safety and policy, as a part of the wider AI Fringe event. We aim to put a spotlight on recent advances in AI safety developments and regulatory frameworks, to inform and spark discussions by raising awareness on some solutions currently in development.
Our focus will be on human rights, regulating and certifying safety, and practices. We have also invited PhD students from UCL to showcase several aspects relating to AI risks. For the first time, we will pilot a new PhD and Postdoc programme for venturers, with an explicit focus on entrepreneurially oriented research and innovation. Investors and industrial partners interested in innovative solutions and entrepreneurially focused research are invited to partner with us on this journey. You are cordially invited to join the discussion in this two-day event at UCL Centre for Artificial Intelligence or online.
