Introduction

Climate change is a defining challenge of our era. Addressing it demands the creation of sophisticated tools - and not only tools that can monitor the intricate rhythms of our planet, but also forecast its future to help secure our planet for later generations.

Climate informatics broadly refers to any research combining climate science, and includes approaches from statistics, machine learning and data mining. As a discipline, climate informatics aims to stimulate discussion of new ideas and foster new collaborations, thus accelerating discovery across disciplinary boundaries.

About the event

Climate Informatics 2024 (CI2024) is an intimate conference in a familiar format - keynotes, panel discussions, lightning talks, posters, a dinner and a pub quiz - all centred around themes relevant to climate data science. It's a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.

A space to meet, connect, work, and collaborate, CI2024 aims to address new and emerging topics, fields and concerns, along with big picture issues in climate data science.

The event is hybrid and sustainably minded - we recognise the importance of remote participation to support inclusive access and limit our carbon emissions. Find out more about our sustainability goals and how you can help us achieve them.
