Introduction

The Clinical AI interest group seeks to bring together health professionals from diverse healthcare fields and data scientists who have a shared interest in clinical AI and to foster this network through interactive events on up-to-date developments in the field and cultivate innovative research projects.

 

About the event

The Clinical AI Interest Group AIUK fringe event will showcase our supra-interest groups and also have a keynote talk from Umang Patel, Chief Clinical Information Officer at Microsoft.

Join us in person at The Alan Turing Institute for networking from 15:30 to 16:30 (UTC +1).

The talks will be hybrid and online attendees should join online from 16:30 (UTC +1) when talks will begin.

Our Keynote talk will be from Umang Patel, Chief Clinical Information Officer at Microsoft.

Speaker bio

As the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) at Microsoft, Umang leads the development and implementation of digital health solutions that empower healthcare organizations and professionals to deliver better outcomes for patients and populations. With over 15 years of experience in clinical practice, health technology, and business leadership, he has a unique blend of skills and insights that enable me to bridge the gap between clinical needs and technical capabilities.

Umang is passionate about leveraging the power of data, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing to transform healthcare delivery and improve health equity. Previously, he was a key player in the growth and success of Babylon Health, one of the world's leading digital health companies, where he held various senior roles, including Managing Director of Value Based Care and Director of Clinical Strategy. Umang also has a strong background in medical education, public health, and neonatology, and he continues to practice as a Paediatric Doctor at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. Umang holds a Bachelor of Medicine (BM) from the University of Southampton and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Leadership from the University of Manchester.
