Dates: 10 – 12 February 2016 Location: British Library, London
Main Organisers: Alexandros Beskos, Dan Crisan, Arnaud Doucet, Zoubin Ghahramani, Simon Godsill, Sumeetpal Singh, Yee Whye Teh, Sebastian Vollmer, Konstantinos Zygalakis The workshop’s aim is to assemble experts, covering theory and practice, to address challenges of working with complex High-Dimensional statistical models & Big Data and designing effective Monte Carlo methods for model calibration in such contexts. We aim to bring together academic researchers from a number of different disciplines (computer science, mathematics, statistics and engineering) and Industry experts to discuss challenges and identify common research themes and applications. The ATI universities are involved and workshop participants are drawn from Computer Science and Machine Learning, Engineering, the Mathematical Sciences and the Industry. Each is a highly specialised discipline that has developed disparate techniques to deal with large complex models. These diverse backgrounds will inform scoping through research presentations and roundtable discussions.
