Supercomputers are a bunch of Linux machines sitting in the same room with a fast network. This course aims to teach practical cluster computing by combining lectures, live command line, and practical work so bring your laptop. We will cover GNU parallel, use Microsoft Azure credits and process some of the web. This is a compressed version of the University of Edinburgh’s Extreme Computing course.
NB. The session will alternate between lecture and lab components where attendees do exercises on their laptops. This is an introductory class (no advanced session is yet planned).
