Imagine a write-up of some piece of analysis. Can you reproduce it and get the same results? Are the results you would get the same as what the write-up says they are? Can you understand what is being done? A ‘literate analysis’ ensures that you can answer ‘yes’ to these questions.
The code and the text are combined in the same document and processed together to produce both the analysis and the final report – which means that the write-up is always up-to-date with the latest analysis and you can go back weeks later and see what you did. In this class we will learn how to use R and markdown to achieve these goals.
This is an introductory class (no advanced class is planned).
