Introduction

Everyone is welcome but the target audience is clinicians, policymakers and health data science researchers. We hope that attendees will learn about the challenges of defining multiple long term conditions and strategies that can be applied to their respective areas of work.

About the event

The SAIL Databank, based within the Medical School at Swansea University, is a Trusted Research Environment (TRE)  offering researchers secure access to a wide range of routinely collected data, allowing them to carry out research in the public interest. As well as health data, SAIL offers access to data about some of the wider determinants of health, including education, family and criminal courts, and contact with services such as children’s social care. Access to the SAIL TRE is granted via a rigorous approval process.

In their talk, Ian and Sarah will describe the typical pathway of a project using the SAIL TRE, from project initiation and the application process, through the access and use of the data, to the completion and publication of research outputs. They will also describe the services that the SAIL team make available to researchers, to support them with their projects.
