Introduction
Healthy and equitable cities prioritise social inclusion and fairness for all their citizens by ensuring access to healthcare, clean air, green spaces, housing, education and transportation, among others. There is a huge opportunity for leveraging AI and data science to create robust urban digital twins that can shape future sustainable urban planning, and work towards reducing health disparities and inequalities.
About the event
The Alan Turing Institute and the Urban Big Data Centre (Glasgow) will host the annual all-hands Turing Urban Analytics meeting at the University of Glasgow. Under the theme of Transforming Urban Living with AI and Digital Twins, this event will feature a combination of lightning talks, keynotes, panel discussions and workshops.
This event offers the rare chance for this community of researchers to gather, especially for early career researchers; there will also be many opportunities to network and meet informally to enable future collaboration.
Call for Lightning Talks
We would like to invite lightning talks on topics that falls within the theme of the workshop or on topics aligned with Urban Analytics more broadly. We particularly invite abstracts from PhD students and early career researchers.
Lightning Talks are as they sound; short, sharp and impactful. We’re looking for a range of speakers to present for around 5 – 7 minutes.
If you're interested in presenting a Lightning Talk, please apply during the registration process via Eventbrite or via email to [email protected]. We will ask you for your proposed title and a short brief of around 200 words. The deadline for lightning talks is Friday 27 September.
Bursary
All participants can apply for travel and accommodation bursary in their registration application. Preference will be given to those presenting a lightning talk and early career researchers.
