If you’re moving to the UK with your children, schooling may be something at the top of you list of things to consider. The UK Government provides a lot of support in this area, some of which is collated below.
- There are many types of schools available in the UK including state, private, faith and so forth. Applying for a state school is done via the local council.

Childcare: Local councils will often offer a directory of childcare services including council nurseries, private nurseries, and childminders. Check your local councils website for details, you can find details of London councils in the London Government Directory.
Nearly all childcare options before school age attract a cost, but you may be able to get some, or all of this funded by the various government childcare schemes (see below).
