Turing to receive funding for Rutherford Fellowships

We are delighted that support from the Rutherford Fund will enable global talent to join The Alan Turing Institute as Visiting Researchers, as referenced in Science Minister Jo Johnson’s speech at the HEFCE conference this week.

The new cohort of Rutherford funded researchers will join a vibrant community of data scientists, mathematicians, statisticians, social scientists, computer scientists and software engineers all working together in a cross-disciplinary environment to advance the world-changing potential of data science and AI. The programme will be a significant boost to our existing Visiting Researcher programme, which has seen 8 academics from the UK and around the world join the Institute in its first year, and will contribute to our goal to attract the best global talent to the UK.

We look forward to working with the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy to develop plans for the fellowships.
