Introduction
Since 2016, the Enrichment scheme has been the flagship PhD placement programme at The Alan Turing Institute, benefitting hundreds of doctoral researchers studying across the UK and from a variety of backgrounds. The programme provides a unique opportunity for students to undertake a nine-month placement at the Turing and immerse themselves in the nation’s leading data science and AI research environment and community.
The programme offers exposure to the Turing's cross-disciplinary research community, and supports the Turing's strategic goal of 'building skills for the future'. The programme is designed for PhD students looking to expand their research horizons and career prospects.
“Being a Turing Enrichment student has been transformative for my doctoral academic journey. The scheme has provided me with invaluable resources such as online materials, talks and networking events, which have broadened my knowledge and facilitated connections with fellow scholars. The access to the Turing office in London created a uniquely supportive working environment for me.” (Jiayu Pan, former Turing Enrichment student)
