David Massegur Sampietro

David is a second-year PhD researcher at the University of Southampton. He is a former Formula 1 engineer, with over twelve years of experience in aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, structural analysis and aeroelasticity. In 2020, he found a new interest in the recent artificial intelligence breakthroughs and envisioned the potential for modern deep-learning and physics-informed architectures applied to the aerospace field. His research is therefore focused on the investigation of novel AI methods to address challenging real-world problems relevant to the engineering industry.
