Bio

Joel is a PhD student at the University of Oxford's Mathematical Institute and Institute for New Economic Thinking, and has broad interests in social data science, complexity economics, and agent-based modelling. Specific problems he has worked on to date include likelihood-free inference, representation learning for time-series, and using natural language processing to extract meaningful signals from social media data. He is keen to collaborate with others on these problems, and on projects in computational social science more generally.
