Siân Carey is a PhD student in the AI for Medical Diagnosis and Care CDT at the University of Leeds. Her research interests are in the overlap between patient safety and medical AI. Her current focus is how bias, discrimination and fairness may cause patient safety concerns.
While at the Turing Siân plans to investigate methods for identifying fairness in a range of machine learning models, both the creation of new methods and the testing of previous ones on live models. Therefore, she is interested in collaborating with others in the field of machine learning fairness and patient safety.
