Ann’s research focuses on the use of international migration data in the development of policy. She has advised the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of Ministers, EU Presidencies, governments, NGOs and international organisations including UN agencies. Between 2002 and 2004 she was responsible for policy on asylum and migration statistics in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice and Home Affairs.
Ann has published and spoken widely in the areas of asylum and international migration policy and statistics in the UK, the European Union, ECOWAS (West Africa) and SADC (Southern Africa).
Senior Advisor to the International Organisation for Migration’s Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (IOM GMDAC). Member of the Advisory Board of the Migration Observatory, University of Oxford. Co-Chair of the Worldwide Universities Network Understanding Cultures Global Challenge.
