Bio
Dr Elliott Roy-Highley is a specialist registrar in public health medicine and co-chair of the 'AI and Digital Public Health Special Interest Group' at the Faculty of Public Health. He is interested in the impact of commercial and digital determinants on health, and the practical application of AI to everyday public health practice.
He completed his medical degree and intercalated BSc at University College London, and MSc Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. In 2023, he was awarded Membership of the Faculty of Public Health (MFPH). His research includes investigating consumer facing digital behaviour change tools (alcohol consumption) for the presence of health misinformation and dark patterns, formulating the concept of 'Dark Apps'.
He currently works for an online sexual and reproductive health community interest company, developing methods to determine when the needs of users seeking different types of clinical input should be met through automated or human interactions in order to provide user-centred care most effectively and equitably.
Elliott is one of the co-organisers of the Turing's AI and Public Health supra-interest group.
