Bio
His current research covers statistical finite elements, integrated geometric design and simulation, fluid-structure interaction and large-scale high-fidelity simulations. Before Cambridge, he was for seven years at the California Institute of Technology. The first two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Aeronautics and Computer Science and the subsequent five years as a Senior Scientist at the Center for Advanced Computing Research (CACR).
Dr Cirak’s past appointments include a Visiting Professorship at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Visiting Affiliate position at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA). He has co-authored over forty journal publications, is in the Editorial Board of an international journal and gave around sixty invited seminar presentations around the world. Dr Cirak has a PhD in Computational Mechanics from the University of Stuttgart.
