Lamiece is a health services researcher and public engagement expert. At the University of Manchester, she leads digital health research with a strong element of public involvement, engagement and/or participatory methods across a range of health informatics projects. Her research interests include public opinion on the reuse of health data, citizen science methodologies and co-design in digital health. In her current project, she will test new ways of applying natural language processing methods to analyse social media data within a mixed methods approach. This will attempt to yield policy-relevant, actionable analytics on public opinion and preferences towards information technology as part of healthcare delivery and the secondary use of data. Lamiece has a PhD in psychiatry and is experienced in applying qualitative and quantitative methods in NHS based research, including using large anonymised health datasets.
