Bio

Matt Fry is an Environmental Informatics Manager at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology where he leads a group of scientists, data managers, analysts and software developers. His work is focussed on the delivery and use of hydrological data to understand flooding and water resources in the present and the future. He has over 20 years experience working with hydrological data in the UK and around the world, particularly in developing countries.

Matt leads the delivery of data systems for the UK National River Flow Archive, the real-time COSMOS-UK soil moisture monitoring network, and the National Hydrological Monitoring Programme. His interests are the development of research infrastructure to support environmental monitoring, modelling and analysis; combining in situ measurements, citizen science and Earth Observation; and enhancing the public understanding of the environment through data.
