Bio
Alex Campbell was a doctoral student in the department of Computer Science at the University of Cambridge supervised by Professor Pietro Lio'. Previously, he studied Mathematics, Philosophy, and Statistics having graduated from the University of Oxford and St Andrews. Afterwards, Alex worked as a data scientist in Fintech. His main interests are programming, machine learning, and Bayesian statistics.
Research interests
Alex's research is focused on deep learning and probabilistic modelling, with a particular interest in their application to medical data. Specifically, his project is focused on developing and applying deep generative models to spatial-temporal data of the brain for use in personalised medicine as well as to help better understand neurodegenerative diseases and mental health disorders.
