Bio
Nicola Branchini is a first year PhD student in Statistics at the University of Edinburgh. He has an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh, and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Warwick. Currently, he works on Monte Carlo methodology and applications, with a particular focus on Importance Sampling. His broader interests include in particular experimental design, causal inference and estimation, and computational optimal transport.
Research interests
Nicola is generally interested in understanding core statistical methodologies that are used in many domains and in challenging their main assumptions. At the Turing, he will focus on exploring the intersection of his interests with digital twin models, within the data-centric engineering programme.
