Bio

Veselin Manojlović is a PhD student in Mathematics at City, University of London. His research interests lie in mathematical oncology, cancer evolution, and discrete mathematics. He is supervised by Dr Robert Noble.

Prior to his doctoral studies he read Physics at the University of Oxford, obtaining an MMathPhys in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics with a focus on theories of quantum gravity.

Research interests

Veselin’s doctoral research is focussed on mathematical modelling of cancer evolution in space based on lab data and simulations, and inferring the different ways a tumour can evolve as a result of its spatial structure. The goal of this work is to find general patterns of cancer evolution which could predict its progression.

Additionally, he is interested in expanding mathematical methods from phylogenetics to mathematical oncology, as well as analysing them more generally in the context of discrete mathematics and computer science.
