Bio

Laila Sprejer is a Data Science research assistant at the Women in Data Science and AI project, within the Public Policy programme. She is a Chevening Scholar who recently finished her MSc in Applied Social Data Science (Distinction) at LSE. During her studies, she focused on online violence against Argentinian women politicians.

Laila got her BSc in Economics (with honours) in the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she worked in the industry for over three years holding diverse positions in market research and data science. Prior to joining the Turing, she was part of the R&D team for self-driving cars at Mercedes Benz in Colorado, US.
 

Research interests

At the moment, Laila is conducting research on the under representation of Women in technology on one side, and the propagation of networks of hate speech on Twitter on the other.
