Emran Mian is Director General, Regeneration at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities since March 2022. Emran was previously Director General, Decentralisation and Growth and Director General, Stronger Places from September 2019 to March 2022.
Prior to this he was the interim Director General for Strategy and International and the acting Director General for Higher Education and Further Education at the Department for Education. Since returning to the Civil Service in February 2017, Emran has been Director of Strategy and Social Mobility.
Previously he ran the Social Market Foundation, a cross-party think tank. Earlier in his career he held senior positions in both the Cabinet Office and Business Department.
