Dr Gemma Burgess is Director of the Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research at the University of Cambridge, where she leads a multidisciplinary team working on policy-oriented research projects. Widely published, Gemma’s research interests include land supply and the delivery of housing through the planning system, housing and digital innovation, digital exclusion, and housing options for an ageing population.Gemma is a Co-investigator on the £72m Construction Innovation Hub, a partnership between the Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB), the Building Research Establishment (BRE), and the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). She is also leading research on how smart home technologies can meet the needs of an ageing population.
