Raphael Hernandes is an AI Ethics researcher and journalist specializing in technology and data, currently working as a Data Journalist at The Guardian. He holds a master’s in the Ethics of AI, Data, and Algorithms from the University of Cambridge. Previously, he worked for major Brazilian news outlets, including Folha de S.Paulo, both reporting and implementing data- and AI-centric editorial projects. Raphael's research explores the intersection between AI and journalism, both in how AI is covered by the media and how it impacts the news, often using quantitative methods to address AI’s ethical challenges. As a journalist and speaker, he engages diverse audiences, aiming to inform and empower the public on responsible AI use and technology's societal impacts.
