Reed Kopp is a 2021 Ph.D. graduate from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He completed his dissertation research as a member of the necstlab (NanoEngineered Composite aerospace STructures Lab), supervised by Professor Brian L. Wardle.

He was also supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). He received his B.S. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Additionally, he has completed internships with the Boeing Company, Aurora Flight Sciences, and U.S. Army Research Laboratory.
