Bio
Mohamad is an Incoming Assistant Professor of Statistics and Data Science at Carleton University (Canada) and a Research Associate at the Alan Turing Institute. He earned his PhD in Statistics from McGill University, with research focusing on statistical network analysis and graphical models. His expertise lies in the intersection of statistical theory, machine learning, and network analysis. At the Turing Institute, Mohamad is contributing to the AI for Numerical Weather Prediction (AI4NWP) programme.
In addition to academic roles, he has significant industry experience, including as a Data Scientist at Lyft, where he led initiatives to improve traffic prediction models. His research has been recognized with prestigious fellowships from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and has made substantial contributions to both theoretical and applied statistics.
