Alessandro is a Senior Research Associate at the Turing Institute. He is working as part of the Turing-Roche Partnership in the predictive modelling research theme on geometry of deep learning.
Alessandro's academic journey spans maths, physics, stats, and machine learning. He earned master's in math and physics from Warwick and Cambridge, then pursued a Ph.D. with Mark Girolami at Imperial College. His research focused on Hamiltonian Monte Carlo for sampling complex distributions, and bias-robust statistical inference using reproducing kernel methods. Subsequently, he carried out a postdoc at Cambridge, diving deeper into the geometry of statistical and machine learning algorithms.
