Within the defence and security programme, Alex works across a research portfolio exploring the application of data science and artificial intelligence to a range of national security and defence challenges and works closely with national and international partners. Current research interests include human-machine teaming, intelligence innovation, and national security policy.

Alex also produces research for the Turing’s Centre for Emerging Technology and Security (CETaS) and his co-authored papers – The Future of Open Source Intelligence for UK National Security and Privacy and Intelligence – were recently published.
