Bio
Emily Lines is a Lecturer in Physical Geography at the University of Cambridge, a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow, and a Turing Fellow. Her research spans computational ecology, remote sensing and data science, with a focus on forest ecology. She applies statistical and computational approaches to a wide range of existing data that inform on the structure and function of forests, as well as field data from novel remote sensing technologies. She studied Mathematics at Imperial College London and the University of York, holds a PhD in Plant Sciences from Cambridge University, and before joining Cambridge she worked at University College London on a European Space Agency-funded data assimilation project, and at Queen Mary University of London as a lecturer in Environmental Science.
