Bio

Ismael is Ethics Research Assistant. He supports the Ethics Advisory Group at the Turing. Prior to this, he worked for several years in Human Resources and across diverse industries, from fintech to the performing arts.

In 2019, Ismael took on an MSc in Philosophy of the Social Sciences. His undergraduate course is in Business Management and Administration, however. These allow him to bring about both business know-how and curiosity to the Ethics Advisory Group.

Research interests

At the Turing, Ismael studies the ethical tensions between treating data ethically and making data available for open science. Given his background in Philosophy of the Social Sciences, Ismael also studies what a framework of values for science could look like, as well as whether groups (or scientific communities) can act with their own agency.
