Bio
Markel Vigo is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Manchester. He earned his PhD in at the University of the Basque Country in 2009. After a period in industry, he joined the University of Manchester in 2011 as a postdoc and became a lecturer in 2015. He is interested in modelling user behaviour on data-intensive interactive systems such as physical activity tracking ecosystems and information dashboards. To achieve this goal, Markel works on creating human-centred methods, tools and pipelines that facilitate wrangling and pattern mining human-computer interactions to ultimately create computational user models of interest, engagement, interaction barriers or knowledge acquisition.
