Matthew Studley is a senior member of the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, where his interests span the ethics of robotics, evolutionary swarm robotics, haptic feedback and teleoperation.  As coordinator of the EU ‘SciRoc’ project, Matthew leads the European Robotics League in which teams benchmark different robotic systems through competition, helping the peoples of Europe understand the truth behind the hype so they understand how robots might work and play alongside them in the Smart  Cities of the future.  When Matthew isn’t thinking about robots and ethics, he enjoys Tai Chi and slowness.  He describes his primary motivation as, ‘Helping people get the good stuff from Robotics and AI, while avoiding the bad.'
