Dr Miqing Li is a lecturer in the School of Computer Science at the

Research interests

Miqing’s research revolves around solving (multi-objective) optimisation problems using population-based randomised algorithms (mainly evolutionary algorithms). In general, it consists of two parts: 1) basic research, namely, developing effective algorithms for general challenging optimisation problems such as those with many objectives, complex constraints, numerous local/global optima, and expensive to compute, and 2) applied research, namely, designing customised algorithms for practical problems in other fields such as those in software engineering, high-performance computing, neural architecture search, disassembly automation, and emergency supply distribution.
