Bio

Toby Davies is an Associate Professor in the School of Law at the University of Leeds. His background is in mathematics, and his research is concerned with the quantitative analysis and modelling of crime. His particular research interests include the modelling of crime patterns in space and time, and the influence of urban structure (such as street networks) on the distribution of crime. In addition to this, he is interested in data science and network analysis approaches in general, with particular interests in social network analysis and financial crime.

His research involves collaborations with a number of external organisations, including West Yorkshire Police, Thames Valley Police and the London Mayor's Office for Policing & Crime (MOPAC). In addition to this, he is a co-founder of ‘JDI Open’, which seeks to promote open science practices within crime science.
