Rosie became University Liaison Manager for UCL in February 2020, which she combines with working as Communications and Events Manager for Science and Engineering South, one of the regional higher education consortia.

Rosie joined from Jisc where she worked as a Communications and Media Editor from 2017. She has more than five years’ experience of working in higher education organisations having previously edited the Efficiency Exchange website for Universities UK and Jisc.

After graduating from the University of Sheffield with a modern history and politics degree, Rosie began a 14-year career in journalism, initially as a reporter on specialist planning, local government and urban regeneration titles. After going freelance in 2010, Rosie produced online news and features for Channel 4 News, the Guardian and a number of other outlets, covering a range of subjects.

In 2010 she was one of 20 journalists selected out of more than 1,000 candidates for the BBC’s Journalism Talent Pool programme. This led to freelance work at Newsnight, Radio 4’s You and Yours and on BBC London’s website.
