This Interest Group explores how to develop computational approaches that enable computers to process and understand human language. It is an extension of an existing natural language processing reading group at the Turing, and will provide a link to other related groups, such as the machine reading group at UCL led by Sebastian Riedel.
The Interest Group focuses both on core natural language processing methods and tasks (such as text classification, information extraction, summarization, question answering, sentiment analysis, deep learning etc.) and applications of natural language processing for the social sciences and humanities (such as veracity in social media, NLP for mental health, NLP for analysing social dynamics).
We have close links with the Social Data Science Interest Group.
Dates and joining instructions for the natural language processing bi-weekly reading group will follow soon.
