Introduction
Participating Organisations and Experts in Residence (EiRs)
The Turing Way Practitioners Hub aims to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among organisations that are committed to advancing technology, skills, and data practices through open source, open data, and open collaboration. Each cohort invites organisations that are interested in engaging with its activities, leveraging its resources, and benefiting from its expansive network. These organisations designate Experts in Residence (EiR) — leaders, managers, or specialists — to represent them within the Practitioners Hub. Ideal participating organisations are those that value openness and collaboration. These organisations recognise the value of transferable data skills, support their EiRs in becoming champions of industry best practices and seek to collaborate across sectors, expanding their knowledge and capability beyond traditional boundaries.
EiRs play a crucial role in shaping decision-making and strategy within their respective organisations by addressing challenges and pursuing goals related to improving technology, AI adoption and data practices. Successful EiRs contribute actively to the development of skills and decision-making processes through consultation, hands-on support, and engagement activities that enhance their organisation's ability to adopt and implement AI and data best practices. Through their involvement in the Practitioners Hub, EiRs share their expertise, and sector-specific insights with their peers, forming a collaborative cohort that drives innovation practices in AI and data science in their respective organisations and fields.
Supported by The Turing Way team, and connected to networks like BridgeAI and the broader Turing community, EiRs are empowered to carry out initiatives that align with their interests while promoting open, ethical, and collaborative approaches to data science. By leveraging The Turing Way’s resources, they serve as ambassadors of best practices, helping their organisations and sectors adopt innovative data strategies and fostering a culture of open source AI.
2024 Cohort Participants
We are delighted to welcome the following organisations and their Experts in Residence (EiRs) to the 2024 cohort. With the overarching goal of accelerating the adoption of open source, open data, open collaboration, and ethical practices within these organisations, EiRs will join a dynamic network of peers. Between September 2024 and February 2025, the Practitioners Hub will host facilitated workshops for skill exchange, informal knowledge-sharing sessions, and opportunities to co-create case studies, all while supporting EiRs in their efforts to adopt AI best practices in their work.
